Pavla Malinová
Pavla Malinová is a leading figure in contemporary Czech painting. Her work distinguishes itself by a fusion of spiritual, psychological, and esoteric symbolism. Renowned for her works with colour, her practice draws on historical art references and maintains a distinctly personal approach. Allusions to modernist morphology go hand in hand with the rawness of art brut. Her paintings often step out of their two-dimensionality into space, becoming object compositions, or are occasionally painted directly onto the gallery wall. Malinová has introduced her work to several independent galleries and art institutions across the Czech Republic, Berlin, Brussels, and Krakow. In 2019, she was awarded the Jindřich Chalupecký Award. Her paintings are in all major private collections.
